“One of the most enjoyable publications I worked on since starting at the Gallery was the Real Pictures book. I was familiar with the majority of the images, but only from reproductions, so it was a real thrill to spend time with the original prints. I am particularly fond of Aaron Siskind’s Neat, we’ve been asking the landlord to paint for two years from Harlem Document, above all because it is a beautifully crafted print, but also because Aaron Siskind’s work was part of what got me interested in photography in the first place.”
