EVERY DONATION COUNTS!

Every gift to the Gallery is vital as less than 25% of our funding comes from government sources. Your important commitment affirms the incredible power of art and contributes to our ability to create programs and experiences like Open Studio, School Programs and Public Tours. These experiences encourage visitors to engage with art in new ways.

These dynamic initiatives reflect our vision that Art Opens Pathways to our future by putting Community and Learning and Art & Artists at the center of all we do.

It is also paramount we celebrate Indigenous Culture while continuing our commitment to creating a Gallery that is sustainable and environmentally friendly.

We ask you to join us as we travel these pathways to the future and continue to provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy more access to more art, more often.

The Jean Cooperberg Fund

Jean Cooperberg (1942–2022) was a great friend and long-time supporter of the Vancouver Art Gallery. She spent her life involved with many charities, but she was most dedicated to the Gallery’s education program as a docent for 32 years.

In tribute to Jean, donations can be made to the Vancouver Art Gallery in her honour. The funds will be used for a special education project.

Gordon Smith Memorial Fund

Every so often in life, we come across a remarkable person—one who touches the lives of everyone they encounter. Gordon Smith, beloved artist, educator and philanthropist, was a figure who left an indelible mark in this world. His passing in January 2020 was a tremendous loss, and in celebration of his life and many achievements, the Vancouver Art Gallery is honouring Gordon’s legacy by establishing a memorial fund in his name.

Gordon and Marion believed in the Vancouver Art Gallery’s mission so fervently that they have left us an incredible $1 million through their estate. A leader in supporting excellence in education and the arts, the Jarislowsky Foundation in Montreal is matching their generosity with a special fund to be set up in 2021, focusing on advancing Canadian art.

We invite you to share in Gordon and Marion’s generosity by participating in this important initiative with a gift or monthly donation.
