Art Agents + The Making Place
Every Sunday, the Gallery offers unique activities geared toward 5 to 12-year-old visitors and their families. Throughout the month of July, we will continue to investigate the exhibitions Views of the Collection: The Street, as well as the recently opened Alberto Giacometti: A Line Through Time.
All activities are free for children aged 12 & under, when accompanied by an adult. Adult participation is with admission or free for Gallery Members.
Join our team of curious, funny and informed Art Agents as they bring the Gallery’s exhibitions to life. They engage with the exhibitions through in-gallery activities, questions, and conversations relating to what your family notices about the artworks on display.
Then move on to The Making Place which offers art-making activities inspired by the materials and processes that you see in the exhibitions on display. Drop in any time between 12 and 4 PM to take part.

July 28: Shapes and Lines
Alberto Giacometti practices deep looking to capture the very likeness of his sitters. He draws and paints layers of shapes and lines to refine the image. This process is an important part of his creativity. Each new layer adds a different perspective of the person to help encompass their true persona. Families will explore unique materials with a focus on line and form, building a drawing or painting with many different layers of the same image. We will look at how the layers create new images of the same thing. Is there a different shape or figure when you look at it closely? How do the lines intersect through the space?
